Questions

About this calculator

How much sod do I need?

Measure the area, add 5–10% for curved edges and cuts, then divide by the roll coverage. Irregular lawns need more waste allowance than rectangles.

Should I prepare the ground first?

Always. Four inches of decent topsoil, levelled and lightly firmed, makes the difference between sod that roots in two weeks and sod that dies in three.
