Questions
About this tool
What is the difference between an estimate and a quote?
An estimate is a considered projection that may move if conditions change. A quote is a fixed price you are committing to. The wording on the document matters if there is ever a dispute, so say plainly which one you are giving.
Why does the estimate need an expiry date?
Because material prices move. An estimate with no expiry can be accepted six months later at a price that now loses you money. Thirty days is the common default.
Should I show a line-by-line breakdown?
It depends who is reading it. A breakdown builds trust with a cautious homeowner but also invites line-by-line negotiation, and it tells competitors your labour rate. Many contractors show grouped scope rather than every component.
Does the signature line make it binding?
A signature records acceptance, which helps, but what makes an agreement enforceable varies by jurisdiction and by value. For large jobs, use a contract written for your state rather than a signed estimate.

HVAC Estimating Software
Making one of these by hand is fine. Making forty a month, chasing the ones nobody paid, and finding last year's when a customer queries it, is a different job.

Nothing is saved. Close the tab and the contents are gone, because nothing is stored on our side. It also does not number documents for you, track what has been paid, or chase anyone.
