About this calculator
How many bundles in a square?
Three for most standard and architectural shingles. Heavier designer and slate-look products can be four or five, so always check the packaging before ordering.
What else do I need besides shingles?
Underlayment, ice-and-water shield at eaves and valleys, drip edge, starter strip, ridge cap, flashing, nails and vents. The shingles alone are usually only about two-thirds of the material cost.
