About this calculator
Why calculate per square rather than per job?
Per-square figures are comparable across jobs and let you spot when a bid is drifting below cost. Total job profit hides that because bigger roofs always produce bigger numbers.
How do I price insurance work?
The same cost side applies. The difference is that the price is largely set by the adjuster's scope, so supplements and accurate scoping are where the margin is won.
Should sales commission be in here?
Yes. Put it in the overhead allocation. On roofing jobs commission is often a significant share of the ticket and leaving it out badly overstates margin.
