Jobs per month to break even 62
Break-even revenue $59,111
Jobs to hit your profit target 96
Contribution per job $450
Break-even is 62 jobs a month. Your $15,000 profit target needs 96, which is 33 more.

Fixed and variable costs are assumed steady across the month. Seasonal trades should run this on a peak month and a slow month separately.

Questions

About this calculator

Is the owner's salary fixed or variable?

Fixed, if you pay yourself consistently. If you only draw what is left, your break-even is understated and the business is effectively borrowing from you each month.

How often should I recalculate?

Any time you add a vehicle, a salaried person or a significant subscription. Those are the changes that quietly move break-even without anyone noticing.

What if I run several trades?

Split them. Blending a high-margin service division with a low-margin install division produces an average that describes neither.
