Why hold slots back for urgent cases?
Because without them urgent patients displace booked ones, which delays everything and damages both. A held buffer that goes unused costs a slot; one that is not held costs the whole afternoon.
Why does the schedule always run late?
Usually because slot length was set to the consultation and not to the consultation plus documentation, handover and the occasional complex case. The effective minutes figure here is the honest one.
