About this calculator
Should I show materials at cost on the quote?
Only if you have raised your labour rate to compensate. Itemising materials at cost invites the customer to supply their own, which shifts warranty risk onto you for no gain.
How much waste should I allow?
It depends on the material and the layout: 5–10% for simple runs, 15% or more for diagonal tile, patterned flooring or complex roof geometry.
