About this calculator
How much waste should I allow for flooring?
Ten per cent for a straight lay in a simple rectangle, 15% for diagonal, and up to 20% for herringbone or rooms with many angles and alcoves.
Why buy an extra box?
For future repairs. Colour and grain vary between batches, so a plank replaced in three years from new stock will be visibly different.
