Five messages is not too many?
Most contractors send one and stop. The quotes that close usually close on the third or fourth contact, well after the point where it starts to feel awkward to the person sending. The discomfort is real, but it is not evidence that the customer is annoyed.
Why does the last message give up?
Because an honest close gets replies. People who have been ignoring you will often answer a message that lets them off the hook, and some of those answers are yes. It also protects your reputation with the ones who genuinely are not interested.
Should follow-up be text or email?
Text gets read, email carries detail. This sequence alternates deliberately: short texts to prompt a reply, email when there is something substantial to say. Sending five emails gets filtered; sending five texts gets you blocked.
Can this run automatically?
