Should I use the mean or the median for my average job value?
The median, if your job sizes vary a lot. One $14,000 replacement in a month of $400 service calls drags the mean upward and makes every downstream calculation optimistic.
What does the range tell me?
How spread out the values are. A narrow range means a consistent job mix; a wide one means you are really running two different businesses that should be measured separately.
Can I paste a column from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Values separated by commas, spaces or line breaks all work, and anything that is not a number is ignored.
