Pool Water Calculator
How long a pool takes to fill, and what the water costs.
Result
Evaporation varies enormously with climate, wind, whether the pool is heated and whether it is covered. A cover cuts it by half or more. Losing noticeably more than this consistently usually means a leak rather than weather.

About this calculator
How much water loss is normal?
A quarter to half an inch a day in summer, which on an average pool is a few percent a month. Consistently more than that is worth a bucket test for a leak.
Is it cheaper to have it delivered?
Sometimes, particularly where water is metered expensively or the supply is slow. A tanker fill also avoids running a well dry.
The formula
hours = gallons / GPM / 60
