Questions

About this calculator

How deep should the base be?

Four to six inches of compacted crushed stone for patios and walkways, and eight to twelve for driveways. Compaction in lifts matters as much as the depth.

How many pavers per square foot?

Divide 1 by the paver's coverage. A common 6×9 inch paver covers 0.375 sq ft, so you need about 2.7 per square foot.
