Solar & battery
Solar Power Calculator
Match solar output against the loads you want it to run, in watts and kilowatt hours.
Result
Covering a load on a daily total is not the same as running it. Solar produces in the middle of the day and a load running at night needs storage or the grid, whatever the daily arithmetic says.

About this calculator
Does a daily surplus mean I am off grid?
No. It means your total production exceeds total use. Without batteries, night-time and cloudy periods still come from the grid, and the surplus is exported.
What is peak output?
What the array produces at full sun after losses. It matters for inverter sizing and for export limits, which some utilities impose.
The formula
daily production = kW x peak sun hours x derate; daily load = watts / 1000 x hours
