Why is there a call-out fee?
It pays for the journey and the diagnosis, which happen whether or not the work goes ahead. Most firms credit it against the job if you proceed.
Why do quotes for the same job differ so much?
Different labour rates, different parts quality, and different amounts of contingency for what might be found. The cheapest quote often carries the least allowance for surprises.
Is this figure before or after tax?
Both are shown. Set the tax rate to your own, because what is taxable varies by state and sometimes by county.
